Several students in Reading Against the Odds read from Literacy Chicago's collection of student writings at the annual Words on the Page event that took place on February 16th. The room was filled with students, teachers, volunteer tutors, Literacy Chicago staff and board members and leaders from government and community organizations - all of whom ended up being inspired by the students' poignant reflections on "What I like about my community." Everyone also received a book of the writings, graciously donated by Windy City Press. Stay tuned for more information on the next Words on the Page event!
